Workers Compensation Deterioration
This is a very interesting explanation about why Workers’ Compensation systems nationwide are deteriorating. There is a race to the bottom to attract business, and the price is paid by workers generally and by injured workers in particular. One of the solutions mentioned is to have some minimum standards imposed by the federal government. I think that in this particular political climate that is unlikely. The last time we saw this kind of race to the bottom a federal task force was put together and chaired by John Burton. It was in 1972 and Richard Nixon was President. Most of those standards are ignored by most states, and that is why workers are suffering.
