I represent many people with acute pain that is frequently treated with opiates. Usually, this does not result in any issues. I also represent people with significant chronic pain also treated with opiates. I have had clients die, and others become significantly addicted. My hope is that chronic pain can be treated without injuring the already injured.

It can take a long time to get to hearing after requesting the hearing. It is not unusual for a delay of 18 months and sometimes up to 2 years.  This is an extreme hardship for folks claiming disability since they can’t work. Under President Trump’s proposed budget staff at the Social Security Administration will be cut by about one third.  This will increase wait times. Sometimes people die waiting for their benefits.
